well, its back!

Welcome to the end of the longest outage M+M has had in five years. Which sadly for a daily site run by a man whose best friend is a dead squirrel he keeps in a box hiding in the compost bin behind his garage, that’s pretty good. I posted as much as I had on hand at work, to fill the void, as it stands I think I owe four comics to get back up to a daily comic. This is my goal for tonight, such a cruel fate for the release day of Star Craft II

So just an update:

Free Comic Book Day is this weekend, well Saturday. I shall be around the Happy Harbor locations chatting with “fellow” “artists” and basically annoying people. You should check it out, pick up some free comics and get some sketches done.

Sadly this year due to a surprise trip to Toronto I was unable to submit anything to the Dog Canon Free Comic Book Day book, which sucks. I know I have let my reader down, as well I have failed in my mission to unleash the full terror of my comics on to the unsuspecting masses. What this does mean though, is that I can be lazy for the next anthology as I have a comic ready to go for it!

Where to begin… I sold 9 copies of Ham and Clock #1 woot! which means Marc owns more than 10% of them! It also means that the money made from selling them went to the food bank! all $14 hot dogs for all!.

While we are on the subject of Ham and Clock, go buy Merc #1 penciled by Daniel Schneider of local artist fame, and fan of Ham and Clock, so much they make a guest appearance! That’s right Ham and Clock are in an actual professional comic… disturbing I know!

Here is the cover, I got Dan to sign mine, and draw a Ham on it, then he dropped it, then he drew a Kermit the Frog on it.
Merc #1 Cover

I haven’t read it yet, but Ham and Clock are seen in a strip club, so that should give you an idea of the story :-)

So, looks like I did something bad… Ham and Clock #1 will be going on sale Dec 30, at Happy Harbor Locations. Its a limited run, so we’ll see how it sells, I will publish an electronic copy of it, Jan 4thish, only $2!

Ham and Clock #1

Additionally, there is going to be some events going on at all the HH locations, I will keep you updated as I know more:

Dec 30, 7pm Comic Jam at HH2 (I think that might change) I will gladly allow you to hit me with a copy of HC1 that you bought.

Jan 2nd, might be something

Jan 3rd, at HH1, will be helping to make a comic in 6 hours, with actual good cartoonists. This will be to help raise donations for the Edmonton Food Bank. Additionally I will be putting a part of any sales of HC1 to the food bank, the best they can do is $25, so I might have to get them some soup or something.

Indie Week is coming! but what the heck is it?

Well the major publishers are to lazy to distribute books 52 weeks a year, but the people (the people being comic geeks) demand new comics every week. So as a way to promote independent comics, we have declared this our week. Meaning our comics will actually get main shelf access! pretty cool. Well mine won’t but you know the good indie comics will :-P There is a blog to check out for more factual information: Indy Comic Book Week

Anyway a group of local artists, are once again building up their books etc to help celebrate. There may even be a signing night, meet the creators party thing. Nerd fun at its finest, but I will keep you posted.

My humble contribution will be my 24 hour comic, edited, and turned in to Ham and Clock #1 which I have been talking about doing for a long time, but this time, I am actually 95% done, and hope to have it printed on Saturday.

So as per usual it will be available at Happy Harbor, or you can corner me in an alley and steal a copy, then beat me with that copy, possibly read it, throw it on the ground beside my broken body and then piss on the pair of us. Yeah, that’d be nice.
